meet the founder.

hi. and welcome. i’m Ally.
my team said i needed a bio. so here we are.
and while it’s hard for me to figure out how i ended up here, i’ll give it my best shot.
some years ago i fell in love.
and it was like most great love stories in that it happened slow and all at once.
mountain tops and deep valleys, late night campfires and long treks, vast oceans and all the living creatures along the way. i fell in love with the natural world.
deeper and deeper into the sensation, i felt myself come into my own. i couldn’t believe how much of the world i had left to see, and i was overcome with a desire to see it all.
i suppose now would be a good time to tell you, i wasn’t on my own.
i don’t know if you’ve ever had a dog, but i’m guessing you’ve known at least one.
but this one was special, to me.
and if i had to find a reason for every step i ever adventured for 13 years, it was him. giving him the best life in turn saved mine. i was just a young kid and i needed something to steer me in the right direction.
a driving force. a guiding light.
a north star.
i took a lot of photos, i traveled a lot of places, i wrote one book.
and when his time came, i had to give him back to the earth we both love so much.
i guess this is the part of the love story where someone gets their heart broken.
i thought i would be alone when he left me. but while i was busy gathering our memories, unbeknownst to me, he was gathering friends.
friends on a silly little thing called the internet. friends with familiar hearts and wanderlust dreams.
friends to understand what it means to love another more than yourself and to want to give them the world.
i know in my heart, this is how he is still giving me the world.
this is our travel family. we are messy and imperfect. we have good hearts and deep souls. we go to far places, yet stay close to each other. of all the lessons he ever taught me, this one i know to be the first - we are never meant to go alone.
i think it’s time, friend.
let’s go find your north.

about found north
this all started with a few people who wanted to travel a little deeper. not just see the world, but feel it. the kind of travel where you come home with dirt on your boots, a full camera roll, and a handful of new people you somehow can’t imagine your life without.
we believe in wild places and wild hearts. in walking miles just to watch the sun rise. in quiet conversations on long drives and loud laughter over late dinners.
found north was born from a shared love of nature, movement, and connection. we create trips that welcome you in—not just to a new place, but to a new version of yourself.
we’re not here to collect places. we’re here to come home to ourselves.
the dogs we’ve loved along the way
if you’ve ever traveled with us, you already know—we’re soft for the strays. the wide-eyed dogs in alleys, the sun bears in rehab centers, the endangered painted dogs roaming far too close to roads.
on trips through egypt, thailand, nepal, namibia, and beyond, we’ve met beings—furred, feathered, wild, and wandering—that left a mark. we couldn’t look away. so we didn’t.
quietly, together, we’ve raised money to support the organizations protecting them. sometimes it was for dog rescues. sometimes for reforestation or wildlife rehabilitation. always for love.
none of it was required. none of it was expected. it just felt right.
so far, we’ve supported conservation efforts in multiple countries. and we’re just getting started.
every found north trip includes a give-back component—because the world takes care of us, and we’re here to return the favor.
